I denne Filmværksted Viborg-masterclass bruger producer Nynne Selin Eidnes den animerede spillefilm Drømmebyggerne til at afdække de unikke udfordringer inden for budgettering, planlægning og produktion af animation — fra pipeline management til strategi for international co-produktion.

"Arbejdet med Dreømmebyggerne gav en enestående mulighed for at undersøge de specifikke budget- og produktionsudfordringer ved at skabe en animeret spillefilm. Filmen blev produceret i tæt samarbejde med Hydralab, som stod for hele den visuelle del af produktionen — en opsætning, der stiller særlige krav til pipeline management, kommunikationsstrukturer og kreativ koordinering. I denne masterclass bruger jeg Drømmebyggerne som case til at gennemgå, hvordan man griber budgettering og planlægning an for en animationsfilm, hvad der adskiller producentens rolle i animation fra live-action, og hvor de to overlapper. Vi dykker ned i produktionsplanlægning, strategi for international co-produktion og hvordan man skaber plads til kreativitet inden for stramme økonomiske og strukturelle rammer.” – Nynne Selin Eidnes

Om Nynne Selin Eidnes

Nynne Selin Eidnes er en dansk producer med over 25 års erfaring inden for film og tv. Hun er grundlægger af First Lady Film og har produceret et bredt udvalg af projekter inden for animation, fiktion og dokumentar. Hendes seneste produktioner inkluderer den internationalt anerkendte animationsfilm Dreambuilders og Første Verdenskrigsdramaet Erna i krig. Nynne har en dyb forståelse for både de kreative og logistiske aspekter af produktion og har fungeret som delegeret producer på adskillige komplekse projekter. Hun er alumne fra EAVE, medstifter af den uafhængige filmskole Super16 og blev udnævnt som en af Variety’s "Producers to Watch" i 2020. Hendes arbejde er kendetegnet ved stærk ledelse inden for budgetstyring, internationale co-produktioner og tværfaglig historiefortælling.

In this FVV masterclass, producer Nynne Selin Eidnes uses the animated feature Dreambuilders to unpack the unique budgeting, scheduling, and production challenges of animation — from pipeline management to international co-production strategy.

"Working on Dreambuilders offered a unique opportunity to explore the specific budgeting and production challenges of animated feature filmmaking. The film was produced in close collaboration with Hydralab, who handled the entire visual side of the production — a setup that brings its own demands in terms of pipeline management, communication structures, and creative coordination. In this masterclass, I’ll use Dreambuilders as a case study to walk through how to approach budgeting and scheduling for an animated film, what distinguishes the producer’s role in animation versus live-action, and where the two overlap. We’ll dive into production planning, international co-production strategy, and how to create space for creativity within tight financial and structural constraints.” – Nynne Selin Eidnes

About Nynne Selin Eidnes

Nynne Selin Eidnes is a Danish producer with over 25 years of experience in film and television. She is the founder of First Lady Film and has produced a broad range of projects across animation, fiction, and documentary. Her recent credits include the internationally acclaimed animated feature Dreambuilders, and the World War I drama Erna at War. Nynne has a deep understanding of both the creative and logistical dimensions of production and has served as a delegate producer on numerous complex projects. She is an alumna of EAVE, a co-founder of the independent film school Super16, and was named one of Variety’s "Producers to Watch" in 2020. Her work is marked by strong leadership in budget management, international co-productions, and cross-disciplinary storytelling.
