Join us once again as we welcome film composers Anna Rosenkilde and Jesper Hansen, along with Signe Jeppesen, who is a copyright consultant at NCB
Join us at the workshop when we welcome film composers Anna Rosenkilde and Jesper Hansen, along with Signe Jeppesen, copyright consultant at NCB (Nordic Copyright Bureau).
Together, they will cover the following topics:
- What is film music? And what types of music are used in films?
- What can a film composer contribute to your project?
- We’ll walk through the journey of a film with music in mind—from script to finished film.
- How does collaboration with film composers typically work—and who on the team usually works with the composers?
- Budgeting – what does it cost to add music to your film? From free to Hollywood-level.
- The good contract
- Music rights – myths and facts
- Cue sheets and other reporting – in Denmark, in Europe, and globally
- There will also be plenty of room for questions during the event—so come along and gain insights if there’s something you’re curious about or unsure of.
Signe Elisabeth Jeppesen is a copyright consultant at NCB. She holds a degree in Film and Media Studies from the University of Copenhagen, where she focused on the ethical aspects of adapting facts into fiction and on developing series scripts. Before joining NCB, she worked as a producer assistant at UMA Film, where she helped develop creative projects and prepare funding applications. Signe has also been a producer assistant at Snowglobe and Sam Productions.
Anna Rosenkilde is a trained film composer from the Danish National Academy of Music and has, in recent years, composed music for numerous fiction, documentary, and animated films—including the documentary Dreaming Murakami (2017), which has been successful at film festivals worldwide. Her music is often atmospheric, simple, melodic, and poetic, blending acoustic and electronic elements. Anna has also released two solo albums and performed many concerts. Her compositions include songs, choral music, music for a dance performance, and the music/sound art component of a collection of audiovisual artworks.
Jesper Hansen has been composing music for short films, series, and feature films since 2008, including Daniel Rye – Life After Syria (2020) and An Eternity of You and Me (2022). Jesper is highly active in the political and communicative aspects of film music. From 2011 to 2024, he served on the board of the Trade Association for Film and Media Composers and is currently the chairperson of the European umbrella organization FFACE and vice-chairperson of ECSA.
The visit is organized by the Trade Association for Film and Media Composers (BFM) in collaboration with the Nordic Copyright Bureau (NCB).
BFM is a network under Koda, and one of its goals is to strengthen dialogue with future directors, producers, and editors—whom these sessions are specifically aimed at. The purpose is to foster greater mutual respect between professional groups, with a focus on enhancing artistic expression.
