I denne indledende masterclass introducerer producer Søren Fleng deltagerne til producentens mange roller og ansvar i en animationsproduktion. Med udgangspunkt i konkrete erfaringer fra den internationale branche giver Søren et overblik over de vigtigste kompetencer, det rette mindset og værktøjer, der skal til for at lykkes som animationsproducer – uanset om man arbejder med kortfilm, serier eller større produktioner.

Masterclassen sætter scenen for resten af Filmværksted Viborgs Animationsproducer-forløb og giver deltagerne et solidt fundament for at forstå og navigere i producentrollen.

Om Søren Fleng

Søren Fleng er en erfaren og resultatorienteret Executive Producer med over 25 års erfaring i den internationale animations- og mediebranche. Han har ledet og rådgivet om udvikling, finansiering, produktion og udnyttelse af kreative projekter – herunder tv-serier og spillefilm – med budgetter på op til 25 millioner euro.

Sørens credits inkluderer Angry Birds Toons, som han producerede for Rovio Entertainment, og han har samarbejdet med store aktører som Tencent, SYBO og Seriously Entertainment. Hans fokus er global børneunderholdning. Han har solid ekspertise inden for projektfinansiering, forandringsledelse og optimering af produktionsworkflow, og han trives i krydsfeltet mellem kreativitet og forretning.

Masterclass: The Role of the Animation Producer with Søren Fleng

Note: This masterclass is offered both as an in-person event in Viborg on September 8 and as an online session on September 9.

In this introductory masterclass, producer Søren Fleng guides participants through the many roles and responsibilities of the animation producer. Drawing on real-world experience from the international industry, Søren provides an overview of the essential skills, mindset, and tools needed to thrive in the producer role — whether working on short films, series, or large-scale productions.

This session sets the stage for the rest of Filmværksted Viborg’s Animation Producer Programme and gives participants a strong foundation for understanding and navigating the producer’s role.

About Søren

Søren Fleng is an experienced and results-driven Executive Producer with over 25 years of experience in the international animation and media industry. He has led and advised on the development, financing, production, and exploitation of creative projects—including TV series and feature films—with budgets of up to EUR 25 million.

‍

Søren’s credits include Angry Birds Toons, which he produced for Rovio Entertainment, and he has worked with major players such as Tencent, SYBO, and Seriously Entertainment. His focus is on global kids’ entertainment. He brings solid expertise in project finance, change management, and production workflow optimization, and thrives at the intersection of creativity and business.

Søren combines strategic insight with hands-on experience. He’s accustomed to working in fast-paced, international environments, where he drives productivity and quality through clear organization and effective communication.

It’s important to support the next generation of producers so we can push for a sustainable and creative media production landscape in Denmark—whether the focus is on artistic or more commercial projects. Amid all the creativity, there are still rights and finances that must be handled professionally to ensure we build solid and sustainable foundations for the producers of tomorrow.
